and what do you suggest as a substitute for the welfare for these druggies? If they test positive they're left completely without any financial support?
I suggest that they get off the drugs. if they can afford to buy their crack and heroin, then they should be able to afford some food.
So your government would have to pay for their rehabilitation instead (because none of them could get off hard drugs without going to rehab). I'm guessing paying for everyones rehab would end up costing more than giving them foodstamps for example. If someone is addicted to heroin or crack, it is more important for them than food due to withdrawal symptoms. It's not like they use drugs just for the sake of getting high, most of the time it's because they become extremely ill if they don't get a new fix.

So is it right for our government to pay for them to get foodstamps so that they can sell them for half the value so that they can get another fix? Let them go to rehab and go through the withdraw process. Why keep feeding their addiction when we can try to end it?
